Solar disk not visible Scans were made from the bow of the ship to get a sampling of all available ice types. The ship was in motion during the measurements. The solid black line is the mean for the 11 measurements and the dashed red line the standard deviation. The surface was a mixture of snow-covered multiyear ice and young ice with a thin snow cover. |
