The Hobo XT temperature logger is a small (2.5 x 2.5 x 1 cm) datalogger with a plug-in thermistor probe. The thermistor has an accuracy of 1oC. We used these probes to monitor the snow-ice interface temperature at several locations. Temperatures were recorded every three hours. There were temperature differences of about 10oC between the different locations due primarily to varations in snow depth and ice thickness. |

| Snow-ice interface temperatures from Elson Lagoon. The results are from thermistors placed near gauges 43 and 47. Two other Hobo temperature probes were eaten by foxes. |

| Snow-ice interface temperatures from Imikpuk Lake. The results are from thermistors placed near gauges 34, 37, and 40. Dropouts in the datastream were due to foxes biting thermistor wires. |
