Is there life in the Arctic? - Yes! |
|
| Even though the Arctic is a harsh environment, it is rich with life.
There is life on land, in the lakes, and in the ocean. There are plants,
birds, land animals, and
sea animals. There is so much life that some birds and
whales
migrate thousands of miles to visit the Arctic in the summer. It is a
beautiful environment, an abundant environment, and a fragile environment.
For more information about Arctic life check out this site: http://www.arctic.noaa.gov/arctic/animals.html An excellent reference is: Wildlife of the Polar Regions by G.C. Ray and M.G. McCormick-Ray, Chanticleer Press, 1981. |
